Healthcare is easier to navigate when nothing is wrong. Before you need help, identify three places: a nearby pharmacy, a clinic for routine care and a hospital you could reach for something urgent.
Save what a new doctor may need
- Your passport name, date of birth and local contact details.
- Current medicines, allergies and important medical history.
- Insurance policy details and the number for pre-authorisation or assistance.
- A trusted contact who can help if you cannot manage the admin yourself.
Ask about cost before routine care
For a non-urgent visit, ask what the consultation includes, whether tests are separate and how payment or insurance claims work. For urgent care, treatment comes first. The goal is not to turn health into paperwork, but to keep avoidable uncertainty out of an already stressful moment.
Make it local to your stay
Save the places you would actually use from your home, not a generic city list. Opening hours, language support and travel time matter more than reputation when you need ordinary help on an ordinary day.
